Highlights From the Rick Hansen Man In Motion World Tour Collection
Special Display
In March 1985, Canadian athlete Rick Hansen began a 26-month, 40,000-kilometre wheelchair marathon around the world. Hansen’s goal was to promote accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.
A special display, Highlights From the Rick Hansen Man In Motion World Tour Collection, features 18 iconic objects documenting the Tour. Custom-made equipment, souvenirs of life on the road and public tributes reveal the power of teamwork and public support to inspire global change.
Hansen generously donated the Man In Motion World Tour Collection to the Museum at a live virtual event in May 2020.
