The Museum is committed to supporting the revitalization and strengthening of Indigenous languages.
Learn more about some of the initiatives undertaken by the Canadian Museum of History to increase the visibility of Indigenous languages throughout the Museum, and to highlight for visitors the richness and diversity of Indigenous languages across the country. In support of the UNESCO International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032), the Museum is prioritizing the digitization of archival materials containing Indigenous languages, and integrating Indigenous languages into its projects and products.
To reflect this commitment, the Museum has created the position of Advisor, Indigenous Languages. Gaëlle Mollen can be contacted at gaelle.mollen@historymuseum.ca.
